As a follower of Christ and a father, Dr. J.D. is deeply committed to caring for and empowering children. He believes in the power of partnering with parents and caregivers to provide conservative, compassionate, and customized care.
Dr. J.D. received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Western Kentucky University. He continued his education at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry and graduated with the degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine. Dr. J.D. completed two additional years of residency training in pediatric dentistry at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center – one of the nation's oldest and most distinguished pediatric hospitals.
While completing residency, Dr. J.D. worked closely with medical teams to serve children with complex medical, mental, social, and physical challenges. These experiences have inspired and equipped Dr. J.D. to provide exceptional care for all children. Dr. J.D. practiced as a pediatric dentist in Hendersonville, Brentwood, and Nolensville following residency.
Most importantly, Dr. J.D. is a husband and a father. He and his wife, Sarah, met as freshmen at Western Kentucky University, and they've been together ever since. They have a daughter, Isla, and a son, Tate. You might find Dr. J.D. playing guitar and banjo or brewing his favorite craft coffee at home. The Shadburne family has a goal of visiting all the U.S. National Parks. So far, they have traveled to fourteen ofthe National Parks and look forward to several more trailheads together!
